Unarmed Security Guard
Human Capital Resources and Concepts is seeking qualified, professional, and highly trained Unarmed Security Guards to provide comprehensive protection and security services at a federal facility. This role requires adherence to strict federal regulations, contract-specific Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and government-issued guidelines. Guards will perform a wide variety of security duties including entry/exit control, roving patrols, building and equipment checks, monitoring alarms, and escort services.
Minimum Qualifications
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Alternatively, successful completion of a performance examination measuring basic job-related math, language, and reasoning skills.
- Must possess the knowledge and ability to perform all required guard services duties.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Age & Citizenship:
- Must be 18 years or older.
- Must be a U.S. citizen or legal resident authorized to work in the United States.
Criminal Background:
- No felony convictions within the past 10 years.
- No other unfavorable background information as determined by the Division of Personnel Security (DPS).
Physical Requirements:
- Pass a physical exam conducted by a licensed physician or healthcare professional.
- Vision: Correctable to 20/30 in the better eye and 20/40 in the other; ability to distinguish red, green, and yellow. Safety-type corrective lenses required if needed.
- Hearing: No significant hearing loss; use of hearing aid acceptable if it does not impact job performance.
- Physically capable of performing all duties, including assisting in emergencies.
- Free from medical conditions such as uncontrolled epilepsy or diabetes that could impair duty performance.
- Must demonstrate controlled management of past alcoholism or drug addiction and comply with random drug testing.
Training Requirements
- Complete at least 40 hours of initial security training, plus 8 hours of CPR/First Aid training within six months of assignment.
- Annual refresher training of a minimum of 8 hours.
- Training includes classroom instruction and government-provided equipment operation (Ion Scanner 400, Sabre 2000, x-ray machines, magnetometers, hand wands, etc.).
- Contractors are responsible for developing and submitting a Training Plan for review and approval prior to beginning work.
- Continuous supervisory observation and evaluation of personnel is required to ensure compliance and emotional stability.
Security Clearance & Badge Requirements
- Must be eligible for and maintain Tier 2 (Moderate Risk Public Trust) or Tier 3 (Non-Critical Sensitive National Security Position) investigations depending on assignment.
- Required to obtain and wear an PIV Card at all times on duty.
- Contractor employees will comply with HSPD-12, FAR 52.204-9, and all applicable Federal and agency-specific identity verification procedures.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Entry Control: Monitor and control entry of personnel, vehicles, and property; issue badges and passes promptly.
- Exit Control: Ensure government property is only removed by authorized personnel.
- Roving Patrols: Conduct continuous foot and vehicle patrols; monitor for unsafe conditions, fires, or catastrophes.
- Perimeter & Construction Areas: Inspect and secure campus perimeter, construction zones, and all buildings.
- Building/Equipment Checks: Conduct hourly checks of facilities, including sensitive storage areas.
- Escort Services: Provide escort for personnel, visitors, and transport of sensitive materials.
- Traffic & Parking Control: Direct traffic and enforce parking regulations courteously.
- Monitoring Services: Monitor alarms and respond promptly, coordinating with emergency services.
Additional Requirements
- Must be able to respond to unscheduled duties during high-demand periods.
- Must comply with all federal and contract-specific SOPs and directives.
- Must maintain professional conduct at all times.
